This series will dive into the key components of American “religion.” Whether religious or secular, Americans have gods they worship and rituals they practice. Sometimes the beliefs underlying these rituals are “syncretized” or blended with Christianity, while other times they stand alone as their own belief system.
Non-religious Americans may be surprised to learn that they have adopted a whole belief system that functions as a type of secular religion. Christians, on the other hand, may be surprised to learn where their Christianity has become more “American” than biblical.
