Austin Knuppe is an associate professor of political science at Utah State University. As of May 2025, he also serves as the inaugural director of the Heravi Peace Institute, where he supports USU students, faculty, and staff in developing the character, knowledge, and skills essential for transforming conflict into peace. Prior to joining Utah State in August 2020, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the John Sloan Dickey Center for International Understanding at Dartmouth College. He received his Ph.D. in political science from The Ohio State University in 2019. His research interests include civilian survival during wartime, Middle East politics, and the role of religion in international politics.
